Box Score KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Dodge City Community College men's soccer team lost in overtime 4-3 to Kansas City Kansas Community College on the road Friday night.
The Conquistadors (6-7-2 overall, 3-6 KJCCC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of goals from
Duran Lee (22nd minute on a penalty kick and 33rd minute on a set piece from 24 yards out).
However, a pair of goals by KCKCC in the final five minutes of the half - both set up by DC3 errors (including a hand ball in the penalty box) - tied the match 2-2 going into the break.
The Conqs regained the lead on an
Isaac Palma goal set up on a pass from Lee in the 50th minute before once again the Blue Devils tied it with a goal 10 minutes later.
KCKCC scored with 46 seconds remaining in the first 10-minute overtime off of a corner kick to secure the win.
"We controlled the match and were the better team the entire night," DC3 coach
Tim Romanello said. "KCK capitalized on three mistakes for four goals."
The Conqs wrap up conference play Wednesday at Garden City.
