Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: Dodge City women's basketball was outscored on the hardwood tonight, falling 77-65 in their first KJCCC outing against Barton Community College.
Throughout the game,
Hannah Whitaker posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards while adding two blocks, two assists and one steal in her performance.
Tara Whipple led the team with 12 points after hitting 5-6 from the field, 1-1 from long range and 1-2 from the stripe for the Conqs while
Keiwanna Patterson was good for 10 points on the night.
DC3 trailed by six heading into the second half with a 33-27 deficit against BCC, but a 44-38 outing by the opposition put the final in the opponent's favor to close out regulation.
Dodge hit 35.5 percent from the field and 31.3 from long range throughout the game. The team capitalized with 11 points on turnovers but Barton's presence in the paint with a 44-24 advantage over the Conqs edged BCC to the top.
Barton was also good for 20 second chance points and 31 points off the bench while Dodge mustered seven on second chance opportunities and 16 points off the bench.
Dodge returns to the Civic Center hardwood on Wednesday, January 7 at 5:30 p.m., when they take on Colby Community College in Dodge City.
