Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas:  Dodge men's soccer owned the pitch this afternnon against Tabor College JV.  The Conqs took home an 8-3 decision, advancing there record to 6-2-1 overall.

The Conquistadors scored steadily throughout the match, putting in four goals to none in the first half before climbing to an 8-3 victory after 90:00.

"We were the superior team today," stated head coach Tim Romanello.  "We controlled the pace, got into the attack smoothly and forced them into difficult decisions."

The opposition only managed three shots on goal and five total shots throughout the match, with the Conqs owning and impress 39 shots, 18 of which were on goal to put the BlueJays under.

DC3 scored their first goal of the day roughly six minutes into the match.  Rene Rodriguez smoked a free kick from the 30 yards out to the left of the goalkeeper.

It would be another six minutes before Dodge scored again, this time with Ross Rodgers snagging up a dead ball from about 12 yards out, scoring bottom left of the goal.

The half quieted down for a few minutes until a pair of Conq goals advanced the half to 4-0 in the Conq favor.

For the first DC3 goal, Rene Yeverino passed the ball in to Shemuel Wilson in the middle of the pitch.  He flipped the ball out to Mauro Hipolito who ripped the third goal up top left near the post.

The last goal of the half came when the Conqs sent the ball from the left lane to the other side of the field, with Rodgers passing over to Shawn Watson and the freshman kicking straight past the goalie.

DC3 would be the first to score again in the second half when Cristian Verduzco picked up a corner kick after some confusion in front of the box.  He sent the goal straight in the middle of the net.

"We coasted for the majority of the second half, which is a bit concerning," continued Romanello.  "Good teams, the elite teams, they stay switched on at all times and eliminate mistakes, especially our back line."

One minute later, the BlueJays would tab their first goal and follow it eight minutes later with another to put the score at 5-2 with thirty minutes left in regulation play.

DC3 then put in three more goals throughout the next 25 minutes, starting with Watson's second of the day off a ricochet that he ripped left side of the keeper.

In the 64th minute Fernando Hernandez passed over to Shemuel Wilson who ripped through the defense and past the goalie.

In the 86th minute, Watson connected with Ren Yeverino who scored the last Conq goal of the match.

In a last effort to close the gap, Tabor College scored their third and last goal in the 89th minute.

"All five of their dangerous chances and their three goals were us trying to be too cute, not aware enough," finished Romanello.  "We have to clean those moments up."

Next week, the Conqs will head to Oklahoma Wesleyan on Thursday, September 25 a 4 p.m. before traceling to Johnson County at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 27.
