Johnson played a huge role in Dodge City’s victory over Highland to clinch at least a share of the Conquistadors' first KJCCC title since 1983, racking up 11 tackles (eight solo and three for a loss), two forced fumbles (both recovered by Dodge City), a sack and two interceptions – the second pick he returned 14 yards for a touchdown that gave the Conquistadors the lead for good early in the third quarter. Johnson is fifth in the NJCAA in tackles (120), fourth in forced fumbles (4), tied for 13^th in interceptions (4) and 27^th in sacks (8.5).
