Dodge City women’s basketball opened the season going 3-1 in the first week of action with three wins by 30+ points. Layla-J Cameron got off to a hot start to the season for the Conquistadors. She opened the season with 18 points along with four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in a rout of Western Texas. Cameron followed that up with 25 points on 10-18 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, and three steals in big win over #8 Odessa. Against #8 New Mexico she tallied 23 points going 6-6 from the free throw line while adding four rebounds, three assists, and one block. She capped the week with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists in win over Frank Phillips.
