Dodge City, Kan. - Dodge City Community College sophomore linebacker
Marquise Blair has been named to the First-Team of the NJCAA All-American Defensive team, announced by the National Junior College Athletic Association on Thursday afternoon.
The Wooster, Ohio native garned All-American Status after being named to the NJCAA All-Region VI team earlier this fall for his play on the field for the Conqs in 2016. Blair led the team in tackles with 100 total tackles while starting all 11 games for the Conqs. In addition to leading the team in sacks with three, Blair had four forced fumbles, recovered three fumbles, and had a team high four interceptions. The Wooster, Ohio native finishes second in a career in interceptions (6), fourth in total tackles (164), and fourth in career sacks (11).

Dillon Burkhard, offensive lineman
Chris Gaynor, and running back
Mark Thompson were all named All-Americans a year ago. Blair is the first defensive player to be named an All-American for the Conqs since 2013.
Dodge City finished the 2016 campaign with a 7-4 record and in a three-way tie for second place in the KJCCC.
