DODGE CITY, Kan. - The Dodge City Community College athletic department is proud to announce its 2017 Hall of Fame class, which will be formally inducted May 6 at the Knights of Columbus in Dodge City.
After reviewing nominations, seven individuals and one national championship team will be honored.Â

2017 DC3 Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees:
Â
1998 Dodge City Men's Cross Country NJCAA Championship Team
- Finished with 27 team points at the National meet, 37 fewer than second place South Plains (TX)
- Coaches: Joe Weis, Keith Blackwill
- Players: Eliud Njubi, Likhaya Dayile, James Karanu, Richard Jones, Boniface Ndungu, Herbert Mwangi, Stanley Kipkulei
- Six of the seven runners finished in the top 20 in the NJCAA National meet, with Njubi (1), Dayile (2), and Karanu (4) all finishing top-5

Mitch Corwin (Baseball, 2010-2011)
- Holds DC3 record for single-season hits (91), career hits (144), doubles in a season (25), career doubles (41), career triples (13), and single-season batting average (.431)
- Ranks in top 10 in DC3 history in eight other categories.
- Went on to play two years at Colorado Mesa University, finishing with a .337 batting average and 71 RBI's in 91 games

Pete Emelianchik (Football, 1962)
- Second-team NJCAA All-American in 1962 as a wide receiver
- Transferred to the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA where he played two seasons for the Spiders, catching 37 passes for 411 yards and nine touchdowns.
- All Southern-Conference Award winner in 1963
- Played one year in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1967.

Steve Tasker (Football, 1981-82)
- First Team All-Conference selection in 1981.
- 1995 Inductee to the NJCAA Hall of Fame
- Spent three years at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, playing as a punt returner and kick returner for the Wildcats and still holds the career kick-return average record at Northwestern.
- Spent 13 years in the NFL, including his final 11 with the Buffalo Bills where he was a 7-time Pro-Bowl selection.

Danielle Damron (Softball, 1998-99)
- 1999 NJCAA All-American
- Holds DC3 records for wins in a season (28), wins in a career (45), single-season strikeouts (299), career strikeouts (450), Innings pitched in a single season (211.1), Single Season ERA (.60) and career ERA (.99)

Ed Bethea (Women's Golf 1999-2016)
- Started women's golf program at DC3
- Won seven Region VI Championships and six KJCCC Titles
- Coached 28 All-Region VI and five NJCAA National Tournament All-Americans
- Dodge City Community College women's golf was represented at the NJCAA National Tournament every year that Bethea coached.

Eliud Njubi
- 1998 and 1999 NJCAA Cross Country Individual National Champion
- Also won a total of 10 national titles in indoor and outdoor track (Indoor – Mile and 1,000M in both 1998 and 1999, Outdoor – 800M, 1,500M, and 5,000M in 1998 and 1999)
- Holds NJCAA record in 1,000 Meters with time of 2:23.44
- Went onto TCU in Fort Worth, Texas and became a four-time NCAA All-American and currently holds 3 TCU track and field records.

- Official photographer of Dodge City Community College athletics since the fall of 2011.
- Rose's photos have been used in all DC3 sport publications including media guides, game programs, and online published articles.
